bible
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
–Matthew 4:4
“Like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation”
–1 Peter 2:2
The Bible says that God’s words are our bread and our milk. Food and drink are daily needs, and what can a person do without them? When a person has consistent, nourishing meals, their body is fueled to perform daily tasks, care for the people and things around them, and even run races. In the same way, when we get a hold of real sustenance from the Bible, we are empowered to understand God's plan for us.
Food and water are basic necessities, and yet so many people today, even Christians, are spiritually starving. Without healthy food from God’s word, it leaves people weak and wanting in their spiritual life. Just think about it. If someone is unsure about where their next meal will come from, how can they focus on the higher things, like doing good deeds, or improving their character?
We invite you to join us for a “meal”. The Bible is our bread and our milk, our food and our drink. Let’s start by eating a healthy meal together, and then, with newfound strength, see what else God has in store for us.
